BULA!!!!

Hello everyone! Hope everyone is doing well! I jsut wanted to thank everyone for the birthday wishes and cards!!! Thanks millions! :) I figureds its been a while since I've posted on the blog and what better time to do it when i just get back from the beautiful islands of Fiji! It was absolutley amazing! The things i did there, i could have never imagined doing!!!

We arrived at Nadi Airport Sunday afternoon excited to take part in our 7day adventure in Fiji...We headed from the airport to out first hotel for the night! Skylodge resort would be our first stop on the mainland in the city of Nadi...not a bad place, in the middle of the town, so we really got a feel for what it is life to live there... My preconcieved notion of Fiji being this amazing paradise without a care in the world was changed (not fully though!)... It truly is a third world country! Gas prices there are about 9.00 a gallon but no worries, they do have a McDonalds...the next morning we headed out at about 6.30am for a bus ride to Port Denaruru where we caught a boat to our first resort in the Mamanuka Islands, Beachcomber island.

Beachcomber was beautiful! White semi-sandy (heaps of coral on shore) beaches with some of the calmest bright blue oceans ever! We stayed at beachcomber for two nights and on our second day there we took a day trip sailing to two islands...our first stop was yanquono. There we went an visited a Fijian village and luckly they villages rugby team was practicing and i got to practice with them! after spending some time there we headed off to our next island, Modriki, which for those of you who dont know, that is where they shot parts of the Tom Hanks movie Castaway...it was there that i learned to husk must first coconut...i was not a huge fan of the coconut juice it self, but i did like the acutally coconut...

After leaving Beachcomber resort, we headed north to the Yasawa Islands to Manta Ray Resort! This place was my favorite! It was here where i learned to scuba dive, saw a shark about 25ft away, hiked up a mountain and saw possibly the biggest spider of my life, saw a beautiful sunset, and learned to break a coconut with my barehand!!! all in 3 days! After the three days in Manta Ray we had about a 3 hour boat ride back to the main land where we once again stayed at Skylodge resort for our last night. We were all extremely tired so we jsut hung around and relax, then woke up the next morning for a 9.00am flight back to Sydney! It was an amazing time! One i will never forget!!
